Meh, I think it was fine without it. At least it wasn't like VIII, in which Squeenix went totally overboard with the whole "lovie-dovie" thing.

FFXII did not suck, btw. I, personally, loved it.  Are we talking about the same game?! XII was probably the worst of the Final Fantasies. XI was better then it! (I know, I played XI for a month, and Caleb played it longer.... >.>) |

God, what did they DO to it? The only part that was perhaps not TOTALLY fail was probably Balthier. But that's because of his smexy voice, and that is all. And maybe Fran. But that is all, for real.

What I don't understand is why everyone hates the game. Sure, it's Star Wars in India, but w/e. The game really had no "main-character", unless you count Ashe, but even then you're pushing it. It was a throwback to FF6 and its "no main-character" format, unless you count Terra, but even then you're pushing it. FFXII was like a book. A fairly convoluted and zany book, yes, but still, a good game. It is probably my second favorite FF, after 6. Well, third favorite. 5 is better also. 7-9 all completely blow, totally cliche and 7 made me sleepy in most parts. 10 was good, 11 totally sucked so much ass it doesn't even deserve to be called a game, and 12 was great again.

I barely played 12, but I loved X.

Nope, I hated 1&2, actually. Three was okay, but it didn't wow me. I'm actually one of those people who say "If you didn't like FF6, wtf is wrong with you?"  |

I barely played 12, but I loved X. *Returns to background* No, no, it's simply that FFXII SUCKED. No prior FF experience needed. And I LOVE X!! It was my first FF game ever with the best graphics of its time and the funnest game and the greatest characters! *gush* X3 As for FFXII I didn't like the fact that there was no main character, because then it isn't centralized, and the relationships are shallow, if not sectioned at best (i.e. Vaan + Penelo, Basch + Ashe, Balthier + Fran). And I disliked the gameplay. And many of the characters were bland except Balthier and maybe Fran, but Ashe was a bitch.  |

FF:XII is closer to FF: tactics than it is FF:VI. Final Fantasy VI was actually a good game, and I loved Terra, Shadow, Kefka and nearly every other character in FF:VI. On the other hand Ashe was the only character I liked in FF:XII and that was due to the fact that she was voiced by the very sexy Kari Wahlgren, lol
Another aira FF:XII sucked at was Vayne. The guy was clearly an anti villain and not a true villain. By the way in case you didn’t know an anti villain is a character that works against the main hero but for the majority of a story appears to be a good person. In the end FF:XII was just an experiment gone wrong, IMO.
FF:VII, IX and X are my favorite in the series. IX in particular will always hold a strong place in my heart since I was playing it during one of the most amazing points in my life.
