I've been speaking with her over PM about them. The only thing we haven't really worked out was the stats boosters. I'm leaning to changing them up, but I'm still a bit skeptical of giving Fire Strength and Fighting Skills. That's really stacked toward martial arts.

Then just switch Water and Air's boosts. Water should have Agility and Control; Air should have Fighting Ability and Speed.

Yeah, I was leaning toward that too, Damaru. Give me a sec to edit it.
And Raven, yes, I updated the stat number already. I also cut out some of the character sheet stuff to better reflect what will happen.

So do we subtract two from the opposite element specialties? Or do we subtract 1 point from each to make two?

So do we subtract two from the opposite element specialties? Or do we subtract 1 point from each to make two? For Fire, for example you do this: +2 Bending ability and +2 Strength -1 Control and -1 Agility

I don't mind the questions, I encourage them (:
But make sure to check your profile against the current rubric. I took Location and Nickname out.

I'll assume that higher control allows for use of the really advanced stuff. Stuff like Lightning for Firebenders, ice/bloodbending for Waterbenders and crap like that?

I don't understand, why don't we have bending names anymore, that was one off the cooler parts of the original Avatar RP. If we don't get them initially, there should be some sort ceremony about it.

I was thinking that the nicknames have sort of become a Medal of Honor for the surviving veterans of the Four Nation War.
I think they can be awarded still, but if it's not a time of war, they're not going to be used as readily.

will they ever be used though. We never use them in the NHA, at least not very often.

The General NPCs will definitely use and go by theirs. The characters can too, it really depends on each character. Like Jordianna in NHA goes by Cheshire because that was her previous nickname, etc.

(yea-affirmation as in "yay!" vs. yeah-confirmation as in "yes, that is correct". Think before you post!) but she's like the only one, lol
but (yea-affirmation as in "yay!" vs. yeah-confirmation as in "yes, that is correct". Think before you post!), whatever I could go either way with the nicknames.

Nicknames should only really be used for really strong people like generals or veterans. With our regular characters, it's pretty awkward to give a codename to greenhorns or fresh graduates.

I agree on that point, nicknames are usually given to people that are recognized as amazing in a certain area(or many areas), like "Pilot" in KH:E for example within our own rps is a great pilot lol. A person should not be allowed to decide their own nickname anyway, it should be based on how people view them and their actions/abilities.

The nicknames would make sense for “mission” that require some degree of stealth.

Welll I'm just saying that in the original RP, nicknames were given to those who reached the National Bender level and the majority of the characters went by their nicknames more than they did their regular names. That's an aspect I enjoyed and want to keep.

I think most of the kinks are worked out, so can one of the admins make a board section for it?
