Pick and post what you think.

I voted something else, but I wanted a combination of grad and merc or something, not following the orders of the specific nations.

Probably graduates. Makes a little more sense, considering benders would be training already at a young age.

I voted for the gards as well. Though I'm not quite sure what that means, but I feel we already have another rp that involes a school and we should be doing something a little diffrent with this rp.

Grads, we already got one school RP.

Yet surprisingly school is what keeps the RP successful lol. With the absence of an academy, there will have to be some way to make the group more cohesive, because if everyone is from different nations they have no reason to even meet each other.

unless we're mercs or renegades... or both.

Very true, but we had no idea that would be the case at first. It takes a leap of faith to see what works and what doesn’t. At least that’s how I feel. If this rp is taking place during a time of peace I see no reason why all the benders can’t be training together at a special camp.

A school is too similar to NHA's gig, but training camps fits perfectly with Avatar.

If we decide to do a training camp then I think that it should be a mobile one. There's this whole Avatar world and it would be more fun if our charries got to experiance different enviorments.

The problem with the training camps is that it's a time of peace, but it has only been like 15 years since they were vying to kill each other. Hatchets are not really buried.
If we do go the grad route, I have plans for trying to unite the characters. If we go the academy route, I have plans then too. It's really just what you guys decide. But I do want it so that it is sort of like 313 where everyone may have a different past or origin, but that they ultimately ended up at their academies.

Yeah, but what is the speed of this unification? If it takes a long time for people to actually acknowledge each other's existence it probably isn't worth it. And the whole "big event that draws everyone together" is kind of KH:E's thing. We should try to make a different flavor and atmosphere in this RP.
And for training camps, nobody said it had to be a peaceful camp. In fact, the more hostile the better, considering the Avatarverse is heavy on militaristic aspects and discipline. There can be factions within the camp, diving each type of bender, but also competitions held within that represent certain nations.

I kinda like that idea, if we can get it to work, it might come out great. Also, its probably best that before the actual RP starts, we know how many RPers are in each tribe. That was when we start its not like EVERYONE'S AT WATER TRIBE! What, so-and-so's the only Firebender?

And we have to try to make sure characters are diverse. We can't have 9 waterbenders, 2 firebenders, 8 earthbenders, and no airbenders. Something along those lines.

I'm fine with the camp idea, it was more talking to Sifth. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew it wasn't really a time of peace, lol. But I'm fine with the training camp idea; in fact, it was sort of what I had planned for uniting them. My guess is that if we did the camp, it would sort of be like Triwizard Tournament style like from Harry Potter where one nation hosts the others, or it would be in a neutral location like the Desert Empire. Then, like the Head of Class grad is like team leader of that nation's benders.
For it though, I'd assume everyone's ages would be in the 18-22 and I'd bump up the stats to 30, since they'd be grads.

Yeah, I don't want to harp on creativity, but if you see like 3 firebenders already made or something, try to make a different elemental character.

I'll handle it, Cheshire. Lots of buzz for the RP. I don't mind it all, this is good!

Let’s look at it this way; the camp could be an attempt to unite the next generation. Almost as a way to try to get the children of the next generation to attempt to come to some for of understanding with each other. Will it work, well right a way ofcorse it wont, lol

I don't really like the nickname thing; it's very NHA/X-men-ish. Is it okay if we don't choose to have a nickname?

That's a good question... my nickname is so forced it hurts my soul.

we never use the nicknames in the NHA anyway, lol

lol, some characters in the old Avatar did go by their nickname. But yeah, I'll probably make the nicknames more of a personal preference thing and a relic of the old wars, so like the older General characters would still have them and go by them.

But Avatar doesn't need nicknames... People call Aang Aang and Katara Katara. @_@ There'd be no point. Plus a lot of nicknames are cheesy. XD

I really am against have a bunch of nomads and mercenaries. You can have plenty of freedom while being allied to a country or organization. I know people want to make their badass loaners and whatnot, but it is going to be more difficult if everyone is all spaced out and doing their own thing.
I do agree that we don't need another school. I think a cool concept would be having some uniting event, like a bending competition.
