I still have a year before I have to apply, but I want to go to the University of Minnesota in Duluth, and major in Psychology. Minor in English.
Wish i had the skills to go to an art school! Writing is more my thing though...

I just got my bachelors diploma CRAP! Good job, Sifth! Good luck to everyone! I was thinking of making an OMG SCHOOL thread specifically for acceptances/rejections. Yes?

Yeah...i don't know how good of an idea it is to advertise everyone's rejections xD evertime they signed on they'd have to see it.

You're going to an art school though, which accepts as long as you have performance talent. The schools I'm applying to look for smarts and the whole package, which I believe may be inadequate. >_< In other news, I discovered that I am not only Chinese, but also part Philippine, Korean, and Indian!

That's actually a common misconception, but if you think about it, the really good Art Schools are extremely competitive because everyone thinks they can act/play an instrument/draw/etc and the admissions process is completely subjective. Sandra over at Julliard may think you're the best thing since sliced bread but Walter at the Art Institute of Chicago may find your classic style outdated and innocuous.
You're actually almost guaranteed a spot into University if you have great grades, great SATs/ACTs and a strong essay-now if you get into the University you want/receive funding, etc. is a completely different story.
So I guess in the grand scheme of things, none of you should be worried. I mean, I knew a girl in high school who had a straight 2.5 cumulative GPA and still got accepted into an actual College.
I have faith!

That may be so, but getting accepted into "some" university may not be good enough. It's embarassing if you get rejected from the schools you pick. Especially if you don't want to settle for a regular state university when people expect you to "go higher." It doesn't really ease the soul when you know at least ONE college or university will accept you, simply because thousands of schools accept just about anyone.

I always found the entrance exams to be the hardest part of enrolling into college. But I only applied to about 4 colleges.
